![]() I just feel like Envy is most likely the most envious of Ed. Well, Ed represents that more than anyone because he represents it non-physically but also physically because Ed lost his left leg right? And he got back up, moved forward on it. ![]() The whole thing about the symbol being on Envy's leg and him being jealous of the ability of humans to walk forward in a non-physical sense, move on. The fact that he never used Ed's name until the end just made me feel like he wanted to degrade Ed more than even other humans.which makes me feel like he was more jealous of him than the others. I remember you telling me he just hates Ed but.well, the fact that Ed was the one who he never referred to by name until the very end when he was dying after Ed understood him makes me feel like he was more jealous of Ed. You know this one actually makes a lot of sense.and also makes me feel more like Ed really was the human that he was the most jealous of. Pride's tattoo seems to be: (manga spoilers) Maybe it automatically appears on any human form he chooses to take, I don't know. The other Homonculus seem to have been given the tattoo automatically by Father, but the tattoo isn't on Envy's true form(s), just the human form he chooses for himself. I did realise there is a little bit of a plot hole with Envy's tattoo though. Someone else speculated that it's because the real Envy is jealous of human legs like that when his real form has lots of little tiny legs that are more like little arms. Not literally their ability to walk of course, just the same symbolic meaning as when Ed is describing what Envy is jealous of, the fact humans can pick themselves up when beaten and with the help of their friends, can continue to push forward and keep going. I guess that works but it kind of goes for a lot of things.Įnvy's one I've never really understood, but I did just look around a bit and saw some people speculating that it's because of his jealousy of human kind's ability to "walk and move forward". I saw someone mention elsewhere that the emotion of Wrath is reflected through a person's eyes. There seemed to be a meaning with some of the Homonculus for sure, mainly Greed, Lust and Gluttony like you said.
